Hotel fire in Beyoglu
A fire broke out in a 5-storey hotel in Beyoğlu, Istanbul. While the people in the hotel were evacuated, the fire was extinguished with the intervention of fire brigades.
The fire broke out on the roof floor of the 5-storey hotel located on Şehit Muhtar Mahallesi Nane Street at around 07.30 for unknown reasons.
According to the information obtained, a fire brigade team was dispatched to the scene upon the report of those who saw smoke rising from the roof of the hotel. The flames coming out of the roof spread to the side of the building in a short time.
While citizens were trying to extinguish the fire with fire extinguishers, they also informed the fire brigade. Panicked hotel guests were quickly evacuated. The fire, in which no one was killed or injured, was extinguished by fire brigade teams after about half an hour of work.
“EVERYONE WENT OUTSIDE”
Neighborhood resident Mustafa Arslan said, “We were next door and suddenly there was an explosion. We immediately evacuated the hotel. Everyone went outside. There is no one in the hotel now. Everyone in the hotel that caught fire was foreigners. The fire brigade took the fire under control.”
