Two terrorists attempted an attack in front of the Ministry of Interior in Ankara. Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said, ‘At around 09.30, 2 terrorists who came with a light commercial vehicle in front of the entrance gate of the Ministry of Interior, General Directorate of Security attempted a bomb attack. One of the terrorists detonated himself and the other terrorist was neutralized. Giving information about the health conditions of the wounded police officers, Minister Yerlikaya also said, “We will not stop until the last terrorist is neutralized.”
Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that 2 terrorists in a light commercial vehicle carried out a bomb attack in front of the entrance gate of the Ministry of Interior General Directorate of Security at around 09.30 and 2 police officers were slightly wounded.
Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya made a statement in front of the Ministry of Interior after the bomb attack. Minister Yerlikaya said, “As of 09.30 in the morning, a vile, treacherous terrorist attack was attempted at the entrance of the Security General Directorate of the Ministry of Interior. Thank God, thanks to the valor, determination and intuition of our heroic police, as soon as they got out of the vehicle, they were resisted with weapons, in the meantime, one of the terrorists detonated himself, the other was shot in the head before he had the opportunity to detonate himself, and was neutralized. I congratulate my heroic police officer, I kiss my Erkan, Alim Reis and his friends here on their foreheads. I will go to visit them soon. I have been in constant contact with our chief physician and rector. Both Erkan and Alim Reis are still being treated and they are not in life-threatening condition.”

Stating that they are endeavoring to ensure that terrorism does not have the slightest impact in the ‘Century of Turkey’, Yerlikaya said, “No one should have any doubt that we will achieve this with the blessings of our beloved nation and the determination of our state. Our friends; our General Director of Security, our Provincial Security Director, all our departments have started a thorough investigation from the scene of this incident to the place of origin. Our Minister of Justice made a statement, and a judicial investigation has also been launched. We will share the details with our beloved nation in time.
I received many phone calls. Honorable presidents called, each of them wished ‘get well soon’. Our President is following the situation moment by moment. From the very first moment, we have constantly provided him with information and received his instructions. We are grateful to all my fellow citizens and our beloved nation for praying for us, standing with us and condemning terrorism. 2 Terrorists Commit Bomb Attack
