Home sales in Turkey in August decreased by 1.1%
Breaking news: In August, house sales decreased by 1.1% to 122,91. In this period, Russians were the foreigners who bought the most houses from Turkey.
In Turkey, house sales decreased by 1.1% in August compared to the same month of the previous year. Istanbul had the highest share in house sales with 17 thousand 408 house sales and 14.3%. According to country nationalities, the most house sales were made to Russian citizens with 733.
LEAST SALES IN ARDAHAN
According to the number of house sales, Istanbul was followed by Ankara with 11 thousand 7 house sales and 9.0% share, İzmir with 6 thousand 504 house sales and 5.3% share. The provinces with the lowest number of house sales were Ardahan with 39 houses, Hakkari with 67 houses and Artvin with 139 houses.
15.5% DECREASE IN OCK-AUGUST PERIOD
In January-August period, house sales decreased by 15.5% compared to the same period of the previous year and realized as 797 thousand 418. Mortgaged house sales in Turkey decreased by 26.1% in August compared to the same month of the previous year and became 16 thousand 375. The share of mortgaged sales in total house sales was realized as 13.4%. In January-August period, mortgaged house sales decreased by 28.0% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 152 thousand 438. In August, 3 thousand 762 of the mortgaged sales and 46 thousand 894 of the mortgaged sales in the January-August period were realized as first hand sales.
105 THOUSAND 716 HOUSES CHANGED HANDS
In Turkey, other house sales increased by 4.3% in August compared to the same month of the previous year and became 105 thousand 716. The share of other sales in total house sales was 86.6%. In the January-August period, other house sales decreased by 11.9% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 644 thousand 980.
86 THOUSAND HOUSES CHANGED HANDS
The number of first-hand house sales in Turkey decreased by 9.5% in August compared to the same month of the previous year and became 35 thousand 310. The share of first-hand house sales in total house sales was 28.9%. In the January-August period, first-hand house sales decreased by 13.8% compared to the same period of the previous year and realized as 238 thousand 109. Second-hand house sales in Turkey increased by 2.7% in August compared to the same month of the previous year and became 86 thousand 781. The share of second-hand house sales in total house sales was 71.1%. In the January-August period, second-hand house sales decreased by 16.2% compared to the same period of the previous year and realized as 559 thousand 309.
3 THOUSAND 58 HOUSES SOLD TO FOREIGNERS THIS MONTH
In August, house sales to foreigners decreased by 42.0% compared to the same month of the previous year and became 3 thousand 58. In August, the share of house sales to foreigners in total house sales was 2.5%. Istanbul ranked first in house sales to foreigners with 1,66 house sales. Istanbul was followed by Antalya with 919 house sales and Mersin with 248 house sales.
RUSSIANS FOLLOWED BY IRANIANS
In August, Russian Federation citizens bought 733 houses in Turkey. Russian Federation citizens were followed by Iran with 342 houses, Iraq with 220 houses and Kazakhstan citizens with 141 houses.
