While the Ukraine-Russia war has been going on for more than a year, a historic rest came from Austria about Putin. The Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Putin will be arrested if he travels to the country.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs made a statement on the statements of the Austrian Constitution and European Union (EU) Minister Karoline Edtstadler to the German newspaper Tagesspiegel yesterday that “Putin will be arrested if he steps into Austria”. The ministry has confirmed that Russian President Putin will be arrested if he travels to Austria.
“NO ONE IS ON THE LAW”
In the statement made by the Ministry, “No one is above the law. All crimes must be enlightened without leaving a vacuum, they cannot be left unpunished.” it was said. It was emphasized that Austria, like other countries, is obliged to implement the decisions taken by the International Criminal Court.
“THIS APPLIES TO PUTIN”
The statement continued: “This means executing the court’s arrest warrant and detaining the wanted person. This of course also applies to President Putin.”
However, it was also noted that Putin will not take this risk by traveling to 123 member countries subject to the court.
