Green Charging Stations are Increasing in Turkey: Total Number of Stations Announced!

As the number of electric cars continues to increase in Turkey, there is also an increase in charging stations. The current number of green charging stations has also been announced!

The number of green charging stations for electric vehicles in Turkey is increasing day by day. With the end of January, the current number of stations was also shared.

According to the information shared, the number of green charging stations has exceeded one third of the number of electric charging stations. The net number reached 6058. The increase in the number of these stations enables vehicles to be used in an environmentally friendly way.

The rapid increase in renewable energy investments and the rise in demand for electric vehicles create a roadmap for further increases in the number of green chargingstations.

The Increase in Charging Stations Will Continue!

According to EMRA data, the number of chargingstations in Turkey reached 6058 at the end of January, up from 1719 at the beginning of 2023. The number of charging sockets increased from 3,081 to 13,160. The number of green chargingstations reached 2,206.

According to EMRA’s regulations, the increase in these stations paved the way for licensed players to enter the market. Vehicle manufacturers, fuel distribution companies, electricity generation companies and start-ups have taken their place in the sector.

It was also shared that 181 companies have been granted charging network operator licenses so far within the scope of the “Charging Service Regulation”. At the same time, license applications and licensing procedures are ongoing.
