The Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency took a good news decision regarding credit cards.
With the developing technology, we now prefer credit cards instead of cash for shopping. When using these cards, we prefer contactless payment, which has become widespread with the pandemic, instead of traditionally inserting and removing the card and entering a password. Today, there was good news for those who use contactless payment.
Credit Card Contactless Limit Increases by 100
As it is known, credit cards have a contactless payment limit despite security problems such as theft. With the latest decision taken by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency, the unencrypted transaction limit, which is currently 750 TL, will be increased by 100 percent to 1500 TL.
The new regulation will enter into force on July 1, 2024. As of this date, credit card holders will be able to make unencrypted transactions for payments up to 1500 TL. Transactions above this amount will still be carried out in a contactless but encrypted manner.
