Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi Dies
It was announced that 86-year-old Berlusconi, known as a friend of Turkey, had died. His brother and children went to the hospital where Berlusconi was.

Berlusconi’s brother Paolo and daughter Marina went to San Raffaele Hospital in Milan this morning.
Berlusconi’s other children Eleonora, Barbara and Pier Silvio were among those who came to the hospital. The news of the Italian politician’s death has plunged the European country into mourning.
Berlusconi was hospitalized in Milan last week due to complications related to chronic leukemia.
He Attached Great Importance To Relations With Turkey
Known as a “friend of Turkey”, Berlusconi was known for the importance he attached to relations with Turkey. Berlusconi led three Italian governments between 1994 and 2011.

Born in Milan in 1936, Silvio Berlusconi began his business career in real estate development before founding Mediaset, Italy’s largest commercial broadcaster.
Between 1986 and 2017, he was the owner of AC Milan football club. Forza Italia was founded in 1993. A year later, Berlusconi became the first prime minister elected without a previous government background.
His second term, from 2001 to 2006, was the longest by any Italian leader since World War II.
