FIFA is Coming Back: We May See FIFA 2K25!
With EA not renewing the FIFA license, 2K may have acquired the FIFA license. Here are the new details and rumors!
Two years ago, EA chose not to renew the FIFA license and rebranded the world’s most played sports game as EA SPORTS FC. According to a development that emerged today, FIFA is indeed coming back.
These developments, which have surfaced before, come from more serious sources than previous rumors and indicate that 2K has acquired the FIFA license and will release a new game later this year.
In 2021, 2K boss Strauss Zelnick was asked if the company was discussing buying the rights, and Zelnick dodged the question, but many believed Zelnick was implying that he was already in talks.
FIFA 2K25 Could Be Coming
New developments today indicate that 2K is planning to release FIFA 2K25 and then FIFA 2K26 with World Cup special modes.
The name and future of the game are of course just rumors, but it is thought that 2K will want to appear in front of football fans again with such a name since it will also take over the rights to use the FIFA name after a possible deal.
If FIFA 2K25 is indeed coming, it may also want to compete with EA SPORTS FC’s release window, so we can see if these claims are true with an announcement likely to take place soon.
