Ferrari, who wanted to take the display technology in their cars to a higher level, applied to Samsung, an expert in this business. A cooperation agreement on OLED display solutions was signed between the two companies.
Ferrari and Samsung signed a cooperation agreement. According to the press release, OLED display solutions developed by Samsung Display, the display division of the South Korean company, will be used in the new generation supercars of the Italian brand.
Ferrari wants to take the screen technology it will include in its future models to a whole new level. To achieve this, the Maranello-based company will leverage Samsung’s expertise in thin, light and curved OLED panels.
Ferrari-specific OLED display solutions will be developed
Presumably, Samsung will supply both digital instrument clusters and media system displays for the new Ferrari cars. Neither side provided too many details in the brief announcement to shed light on future cooperation.
Samsung Display President and CEO JS Choi said that as a company, they are ready to provide the most advanced solutions. On the other hand, Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna emphasized that Samsung will develop special OLED technology display solutions for them.
