Eminonu & Galata Street

Eminonu district, together with the Sirkeci district right next to it, is one of the most vibrant and touristic places in the historical peninsula of Istanbul. It is also one of the most important networks of Istanbul transportation. You can observe the vibrant history of Istanbul around the New Mosque in Eminonu Square and visit the historical Spice Bazaar where you can find all kinds of spices. Eminonu Square is a square in the Eminonu district and again visited by Istanbul residents and tourists. The famous Spice Bazaar, Historical Sirkeci Train Station and New Mosque are also located here. In the interior between Eminonu and Sirkeci, it is possible to find many electronic goods, white goods, clothing, textiles and many other products at very affordable prices in the stores here. Eminonu Square is one of the most frequently visited squares by Istanbul residents and tourists in Istanbul. You can have a good time in Eminonu square and beach. New Mosque, Spice Bazaar and Eminonu Ferry Docks are places you can visit and see near the square.

The 490-meter-long Galata Bridge, which is located at the entrance of the Golden Horn and connects Karakoy and Eminonu, is famous for its unique history, fishing people you can always see on it and fish restaurants under the bridge, and is also one of the important symbols of Istanbul. Galata Bridge, which was completed and put into service in december 1994 and is in service today, is a 490 meter long and 80 meter weighbridge bridge. It is one of the rare bascule bridges in the world over which a tram passes.

Transportation:

Transportation to Eminonu is very easy from every corner of Istanbul. There are municipal buses from many parts of Istanbul to Eminonu. You can also reach Eminonu by using ferries from Kadikoy and Uskudar. If you are coming from Uskudar, you can use Marmaray. If you are coming from Kabatas, you can use the tramway line. Also, if you are coming from Taksim, you can take the funicular to Kabatas and then take the tram to Eminonu.
