Emergency Call from Google: Update Chrome Now
Google has released an emergency update to close a serious security vulnerability discovered in the Chrome browser. The company asks users to update Chrome as soon as possible.
Search giant Google has released an unplanned “emergency” update for its Chrome browser. The reason is obvious: to eliminate a zero-day vulnerability that hackers are actively exploiting.
Update 112.0.5615.121 released for Chrome fixes the vulnerability CVE-2023-2033. Note that this is also the first zero-day vulnerability in Chrome since early 2023.
Update Your Browser Urgently
The vulnerability found in the V8 JavaScript engine allows attackers to execute arbitrary code on the victim’s system via a malicious website. The result is full control over the device.
Google did not disclose the technical details of the vulnerability to give Chrome users enough time to update their browsers. You can update your browser by going to the “About Google Chrome” menu in the “Help” section.
