Detained lawyer Feyza Altun released (Who is Feyza Altun?)
Lawyer Feyza Altun, who was investigated by Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office for “inciting the public to hatred and hostility”, was referred to the judge with a request for arrest. Altun was released on judicial control conditions after her procedures at the judge’s office. Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office objected to the decision.
Altun, who was detained yesterday within the scope of the investigation initiated by the Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office on the charge of “inciting the public to hatred and hostility” due to his social media post about Sharia, completed his procedures at the police station.
Altun was referred to Beykoz Courthouse.
Altun was taken to the prosecutor’s office and after his statement was taken, he was sent to the Criminal Judgeship of Peace with the request for his arrest.
RELEASED WITH JUDICIAL CONTROL CONDITION
The judgeship decided to release Altun under judicial control measures including a “ban on leaving the country” and “signing in at the police station 2 days a week”.
APPEAL AGAINST HIS RELEASE
Following Altun’s release, Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office objected to the decision. The appeal decision will be evaluated by the criminal court of peace.
WHO IS FEYZA ALTUN?
Feyza Altun was born in 1987 in Istanbul.
Altun completed her university education at Marmara University Faculty of Law and received her master’s degree in “Human Rights Law” from Istanbul Bilgi University.
Altun defines herself as a lawyer, feminist, activist, philanthropist and writer. In 2015, Feyza Altun, who attended the hearing with her 7-month-old baby, made a name for herself for a long time.
