Shopkeeper Yusuf Celik in Diyarbakir saved the 5-year-old boy, who had sugar in his windpipe, by performing the Heimlich maneuver.
Çelik, who works as a jeweler in Gürsel Sokak in the central Bağlar district, noticed that the 5-year-old boy, who went shopping with his mother the previous day, had sugar in his windpipe.
When the mother panicked and asked for help from those around, Çelik performed the Heimlich maneuver to remove the sugar that had escaped into the child’s trachea.
Çelik’s intervention to the child was reflected in the security camera.
