Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II became the best-selling game in the US market in just one month. The game, which made the biggest opening of the year, continues to reach record revenues.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare II Became the Best-Selling Game in 2022

In a new post today, NPD Group Managing Director Mat Piscatella said, “Modern Warfare II has reiterated the top selling game of the month in dollar sales, while also being the best selling game of 2022 to date.” Other productions following Call of Duty on the November lists are God of War: Ragnarok, Pokémon Scarlet/Violet and Sonic Frontiers, respectively.

According to reports, Modern Warfare II surpassed $ 1 billion in total game sales revenues in just 10 days, while Activision’s total annual revenues are expected to exceed $ 9 billion. When in-game purchases are added to these figures, we can say that the company has achieved record revenues.

In addition, Mat Piscatella reported that PlayStation 5 console availability in the US market has increased significantly, with consumer spending on video games reaching $6.3 billion in 2022. While these figures represent a 3 percent increase compared to last year’s November, spending since the beginning of the year decreased by 6 percent to reach a total of 48.9 billion dollars.
