BioNTech buys British artificial intelligence company
BioNTech announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire British artificial intelligence company InstaDeep for 362 million euros to support drug and vaccine research and development.
German biotech firm BioN Tech is acquiring British artificial intelligence startup InstaDeep.
According to a statement from BioN Tech, UK-based InstaDeep has accepted BioNTech’s offer to buy its remaining shares in the company, which it does not currently own.
The 362m-euro acquisition is expected to be completed in the first half of 2023, after obtaining the necessary permits.
With the acquisition, BioN Tech aims to support the research and development of pharmaceutical and next-generation vaccines with mRNA technology using artificial intelligence technology.
