WhatsApp announced today that it has updated the look of its platform to make it fresh, simple and accessible. The company announced that it has switched to a new color palette as one of the most striking changes for this.
What’s Coming with the New Update?
WhatsApp says that in addition to having a more consistent green palette, they’ve also increased the use of neutral colors so they can be more selective about where and how green is used across the app.
The app’s dark mode is also getting a notable update. WhatsApp is increasing contrast and now uses deeper tones to make the dark mode darker and less eye-straining.
Alongside these color tweaks, icons, artwork and the chat background are also getting an update. Icons now have a more rounded style, while illustrations have more playful animations. You’ll be able to see these changes on both Android and iOS apps.
