Average Rental Prices Across Turkey Have Been Determined!
Average Rental Prices Across Turkey Have Been Determined! Here are the Rental Prices According to Provinces
Average rental prices in Istanbul and other provinces of Turkey were announced. Prices once again exceeded the minimum wage.
The economic problems in our country also negatively affect the housing market. While the increase in housing prices also affects rents, it puts citizens living in metropolises in difficulty. The latest research revealed the gravity of the situation. The average rental price in Istanbul has once again exceeded the minimum wage. Here are the details!
Average Rent in Istanbul 23 Thousand TL
According to Dunya Newspaper, experts analysed the rental housing values in 10 cities with the highest number of students in Turkey ahead of the university enrolment period. While rent increases in most cities lagged behind the annual inflation rate, this still did not prevent the prices from being ‘exorbitant’.
For example, rent increases in Istanbul in July increased by 46% compared to the same period of the previous year, but fell by 13% in real terms. However, even this calculation could not prevent the average square metre rent to be 234 TL/m² and the average rent to be 23,373 TL.
In our country where the minimum wage is 17 thousand TL, students need to earn an average income above the minimum wage in order to live at home, not in a dormitory. Which dormitory fees are not much below this. When all these come together, difficult days await students in Istanbul both today and in the new academic year.
Unfortunately, the situation is no different in other cities. Eskişehir is known as the city with the highest number of university students in Turkey. The average rent here was measured as 15,098 TL. In Izmir, the average rental price was 21,903 TL.
The average rental price in Ankara was determined as 20,965 TL. This amount was determined as 18,749 TL in Antalya, 18,248 TL in Kocaeli, 14,168 TL and 14,339 TL in Sakarya and Erzurum, respectively. Unfortunately, even in the remotest corners of Turkey, rental prices have become competitive with the minimum wage.
