Apple’s first in 10 years: Vision Pro pre-orders sold out
Apple’s new favorite Vision Pro is now available for pre-orders and is claimed to have sold nearly 200,000 units in a short period of time. It was noted that the technology giant is preparing the biggest hardware launch of the last 10 years for mixed reality glasses.
Apple’s mixed reality glasses, Vision Pro, are available for pre-order as of January 19, 2024.
With these glasses, users can combine their virtual experiences with their real-world surroundings.
ESTIMATES WERE BETWEEN 160 AND 180 THOUSAND
TF International Securities analyst Min-Chi Kuo, an expert on Apple’s supply chain, previously estimated that the company sold 160,000 to 180,000 Vision Pro headsets based on pre-order inventory and shipping time.
According to MacRumors, the company has reportedly sold 200,000 units of Vision Pro glasses since launching pre-orders.
On Friday, February 2, Vision Pro, which will go on general sale in the US only for now, sold out quickly during the early sales period.
FIRST FROM APPLE IN 10 YEARS
Vision Pro is the first new product category since Apple announced its smartwatch Apple Watch in 2014.
With a price tag of $3,499, Vision Pro is set to meet users with Apple’s biggest hardware launch of the last 10 years.
It was also noted that Vision Pro glasses, whose shipment date is set for March 2024, can be tested free of charge by the public in Apple Stores in the US as of February 2.
