Apple to Buy Manchester United for $7 Billion
British media says that Apple plans to buy Manchester United. According to sources, the technology giant is ready to pay $ 7 billion for the famous football club.
According to the Daily Star, Apple could buy English football club Manchester United for £5.8 billion (more than $7 billion at current exchange rates). The Cupertino company is reportedly planning to turn the red devils into the richest football club in the world.
The Glazer brothers bought Manchester United for around $800 million in 2005. It is known that the family is considering selling the club for a high price of 9.6 billion euros. However, it was said that it is currently impossible to sell the club for such an amount.
First investment outside the technology sector
In May, Forbes valued Manchester United at $4.6 billion. It is noted that Apple is a company with an annual income of 326 billion pounds, so such a purchase would not be a big burden for the company.
According to the Daily Star, Apple CEO Tim Cook will hold talks with banks, including The Raine Group, who were tasked with overseeing the sale. Apple’s football club acquisition could be the brand’s first investment outside of the technology sector.
