Antalya-based New Airline Established for Russian Tourists
The name and details of the airline to be established in Antalya have been announced.
The airline, named Southwind, will officially begin operations by the end of May. It was noted that the company’s founding petition was accepted by the General Directorate of Civil Aviation (SHGM) and the process was accelerated.
It has been learned that Southwind will initially start operations with 5 Airbuses, three wide-body and two narrow-body.
The possibility that Russia’s military operation against Ukraine might have a negative impact on Turkish tourism was a very important factor in this process. In order not to leave the Russian market empty and not to cut off the tourist flow from this country to Turkey, the decision to establish an airline has come to its final stage. The company is expected to serve as a charter. ( AirportHaber)
