Maldives has been added to the countries where Bayraktar TB2 armed unmanned aerial vehicles are exported. A system consisting of 6 vehicles will be delivered to the Maldives from Bayraktar TB2, which is the UCAV sold to the most countries and for which contracts have been signed with 33 countries.

Baykar’s Bayraktar TB2 armed unmanned aerial vehicle (UCAV) has dazzled with its superiority in battlefields.

In a short period of time, the UAV became the center of attention worldwide, and while being exported to dozens of countries, it played a key role in Turkey becoming a global player in this field.

Maldives to buy TB2

Maldives will supply a system consisting of a command and control station and 6 Bayraktar TB2s for the needs of the security forces.

Within the scope of the agreement, the delivery of the vehicles has started.

He had met with President Erdoğan

Maldives President Mohammed Muizzu visited Turkey in November 2023 and met with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Muizzu also visited some Turkish defense industry companies.

Bayraktar TB2, developed by Baykar, has become Turkey’s flag bearer in this field as the most sold UCAV in the world.

Contracts signed with 33 countries

Having achieved its first export success in Qatar in 2018, Bayraktar TB2 has signed contracts with 33 countries to date.

Bayraktar TB2, which operates in all adverse weather conditions such as desert heat, freezing cold, snow and storms in many different regions of the world, has entered the inventory of NATO and European Union member countries.

Bayraktar TB2 breaks record in its class

Having exceeded 750 thousand flight hours to date, Bayraktar TB2 broke Turkey’s altitude record in its class with 27 thousand 30 feet.

With this flight time, Bayraktar TB2 holds the title of the longest-serving national aircraft.

Baykar has signed contracts with nine countries for Bayraktar AKINCI, while the number of countries with which Baykar has reached agreements for unmanned aerial vehicles reaches 34.
