AltspaceVR Shutting Down on March 10

With this decision, the company stopped the development of many of its projects. One of these projects was AltspaceVR, a massive platform.
End of Road for AltspaceVR
With the announcement that Microsoft will lay off 10 thousand employees, many projects within the company were canceled. AltspaceVR, the virtual reality-focused social media platform acquired by the company in 2017, was one of these projects. Microsoft has announced that AltspaceVR will be shutting down on March 10, 2023. The company stated that they have made such a decision to increase support for Microsoft Mesh, the next generation virtual reality platform.
The company stated that they are looking forward to the launch of Microsoft Mesh, a new platform for connectivity and collaboration, and that they will focus their VR efforts on workplace experiences in this process, but they want to expand to consumer experiences over time.
