2025 Volkswagen Transporter T7 Introduced: Production to be Made in Turkey!

Volkswagen shared the new teaser of the 2025 Transporter T7 model. So what new features does the vehicle come with? Here are the details!

Volkswagen’s commercial vehicle division has released another teaser with images of the new Transporter T7 model, which has a striking exterior design.

Replacing the discontinued T6.1 model, the Transporter T7 aims to appeal to a wide range of users not only as a commercial vehicle but also with its passenger-oriented Multivan version and electric ID series.

What are the Features of the New Volkswagen Transporter T7?

The Transporter T7 will share a close kinship with the Ford Transit Custom. Although this gives VW designers limited freedom, the team led by Albert Kirzinger has managed to create a unique front design that reflects the Volkswagen style, taking inspiration from the Multivan and ID.

In the images shared, the VW front side windows will feature a completely flat beltline, although it is largely similar to the Ford. The Transporter T7 will offer new designs for alloy wheels with a diameter of 16, 17 or 19 inches. The most striking option will be the 19-inch Indianapolis alloy wheels with six black spokes and a diamond-cut rim flange.

At the rear, there are subtle LED graphics and taillights with body-colored inserts, reminiscent of the Ranger-based VW Amarok. The T7 will also be available with a choice of tailgate or dual rear doors.

The length of the Transporter T7 ranges from 5,050 to 5,450 mm, depending on the version. The vehicle will mirror the Ford Twin’s wheelbase lengths of 3,100 mm and 3,500 mm and will feature different interior designs.

In addition, the Transporter T7 will be available in diesel, plug-in hybrid and all-electric options. Power outputs for the flagship EV range from 108 hp to 282 hp. As with Ford, the fuel port is located under the B-pillars, while the PHEV and BEV versions have the charging socket under the right headlight of the front bumper.

Last but not least, Volkswagen has started pre-sales of the Transporter T7 in Europe, with prices starting at €36,780. The launch of the van is planned for the first quarter of 2025. Production is scheduled to start at Ford Otosan’s Kocaeli plant in Turkey alongside the Ford Transit/Tourneo Custom.
