15 Wristwatches Worth 7.5 Million Tl Seized At Sabiha Gökçen Airport
Customs Enforcement teams seized 15 wristwatches with a total value of 7 million 552 thousand liras, which were determined to be original belonging to a luxury brand, during a body search of a suspicious passenger who was followed at Sabiha Gökçen Airport.
Sabiha Gökçen Airport Customs Enforcement teams of the Ministry of Trade closely followed a foreign national suspect coming from Dubai Airport.
As a result of the passport checks, it was determined that the suspect frequently entered and left Turkey and his suitcases were subjected to x-ray scanning for control purposes.
No criminal offense was detected in the suspect’s luggage during the search. However, during the body search conducted by the teams, 15 wristwatches belonging to a luxury brand, which were found to be original and hidden in the compression socks worn by the suspect, were detected.
Luxury watches with a market value of 7 million 552 thousand Turkish Liras were seized. An investigation was initiated by the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.
