Xiaomi Enters the Desktop PC Market! A Rival to the Mac Mini is on the Way
Two new PC models that are expected to be introduced at the Xiaomi event have appeared. One of these devices can rival the Apple Mac Mini and Intel Nuc systems.
China-based technology giant Xiaomi will introduce its innovative products, including the Xiaomi 13 series, at the event to be held on December 8th. Now, the features of the Xiaomi Host Mini model, which will be the company’s first desktop computer among these devices, have been leaked.
Xiaomi Host Mini could Rival Mac Mini
According to reports, Xiaomi plans to announce two different devices, both Mini-ITX and Mac Mini. However, the first model will be a low profile system equipped with a 100W power supply and Mini-ITX motherboard.
It is also stated that this device, which hosts a small notification screen on the front, will also support dual-slot graphics cards. However, we can say that the 100W power here may be insufficient for external GPUs. For this reason, Xiaomi can come up with different configuration options.
The other model using the Intel NUC and Mac Mini form factor will be powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 6800H processor. This CPU with 45W TDP, 8 cores and 16 threads will be accompanied by 16GB of memory and 512GB SSD. According to the source, the new device is expected to have a price tag of around $ 570.
