World Famous Automobile Manufacturer Brings ChatGPT to Its Vehicles!
Volkswagen announced at CES 2024 that its new voice assistant named IDA will be supported by ChatGPT and other cloud-based models!
Artificial intelligence now appears in every aspect of our lives. As such, we started to come across this technology in cars, one of the most important means of transport. Finally, the world-famous car brand announced that it will integrate the popular artificial intelligence tool ChatGPT into its vehicles.
Volkswagen’s New IDA Voice Assistant will be Supported by ChatGPT
Volkswagen announced at CES 2024 earlier this year that its new voice assistant called IDA will be supported by ChatGPT and other cloud-based models. Thus, the voice assistant will answer drivers’ questions using popular artificial intelligence tools.
As of 6 September, the 2025 Jetta and Jetta GLI and the 82 kWh battery version of the 2024 ID.4 will first receive the IDA voice assistant with ChatGPT support; other vehicles will have this feature by the end of the year. To get ChatGPT support, drivers will need to subscribe to VW’s Plus Speech with AI service.
The company announced that it will offer the ChatGPT-supported IDA assistant to the majority of 2025 models. ID.4 and ID Buzz models will be able to use this feature free of charge for three years, and GTI, Golf R and Tiguan for one year. Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport models will not receive ChatGPT integration until 2026.
