Will Artificial Intelligence Put Porn Actors Out Of Work?
The US-based Washington Post newspaper discussed the changes that the development of artificial intelligence will create in the porn industry.
In the newspaper’s article, it was reminded that adult content has been predominantly based on two business models so far.
The first was websites like Pornhub, which offered free content and profited from advertising, and the second was OnlyFans, which paved the way for porn stars to monetize their self-produced content.
But a new change is afoot in the industry.
With artificial intelligence, people are expected to be able to produce the kind of porn content they want using the kind of models they want.
While some companies developing AI models think that this is a service that people can pay for, there are many question marks about the subject.
One of these is the issue of how to compensate the people whose likenesses are used to produce AI content, and of course exploitation.
While generative AI models have technological limits, they do not have moral and ethical limits. Moreover, it is possible for users to trick AI into producing content such as violence, rape and child prono.
Moreover, it is also possible for AI to produce adult content by using a photo of a celebrity or simply a coworker without their consent.
There are no legal regulations that can prevent such abuse cases yet.
Speaking about the debate that artificial intelligence could replace porn stars, Heather Knox, director of operations at software company Elevated X, said, “Artificial intelligence cannot replace porn actors. People who say that misunderstand the work that performers do. But this technology will become popular and will be more exploitative than useful.”
Steven Jones, who returned to the porn industry he left in 2013 with AI, said they are trying to create customer-friendly AI porn engines.
Stating that they have banned more than a thousand words, Jones said that with the model they are working on, users can create “dream girls”.
Stating that no real people will be depicted in the images to be created by artificial intelligence, Jones said that instead, users will enter information about the appearance, posture and characteristics of the characters they want to create.
