WHO IS DEMET OZDEMIR?
Demet Özdemir was born on February 26, 1992 in Kocaeli, the youngest of a family of 3 children. Her grandmother is a Bulgarian immigrant. Since her parents separated, she moved to Istanbul with her mother and older sister. Özdemir said in an interview about his relationship with his father: “We didn’t see each other for years, but we recently reconciled. But I never thought he hated or disliked us. He’s just very stubborn.”
Demet Özdemir took part in the team of dance artists accompanying Bengü in her performances and later started to perform in the cast of Efes Girls. Between 2011 and 2013, she participated in the trainings conducted at Studio Players and received acting training for two years. She appeared in Mustafa Sandal’s music video titled “Shoot and Forget”.
Özdemir made her television debut in the series Sana Bir Sır Vereceğim (I’ll Give You a Secret), which aired on FOX between 2013 and 2014, playing the character of Aylin. Later, she played the character of Alya in the series Kurt Seyit and Şura and the character of Demet in the movie Tut Sözünü. In 2015, she played the character Aslı in the series called Strawberry Scent, which was broadcast on Star TV. She played in the music video of Bengü’s song Hodri Meydan. She played the character of Lale in the series No: 309, which aired on FOX between 2016-2017.
Özdemir played the character of Aysel in the movie Sen Kiminle Dans Ediyorsun, written and directed by Burak Aksak in 2017. She played the character of Sanem in the series Erkenci Kuş, which aired on Star TV between 2018-2019. She won the Best Actress Award at the Murex D’or Awards for her performance in Erkenci Kuş. In December 2019, she gave life to the character of “Zeynep Göksu Tunahan” in the series Doğduğunğun Ev Kaderindir, which started to be broadcast on TV8 in December 2019 and was adapted from psychiatrist Gülseren Budayıcıoğlu’s novel called The Girl in the Glass, which tells a true life story. The series ended with the finale on May 12, 2021.
Demet Özdemir is currently starring in the series called Dünyayla Benim Aramda (Between Me and the World) for the internet platform Disney+ and in the series Adım Farah (My Name is Farah) on FOX TV.
