Whatsapp Dual Account Feature Era Begins

Meta Starts Testing: Support For Using Two Separate Accounts On The Same Phone Is Officially Confirmed, Will Roll Out To All Users

ISTANBUL, Turkey – WhatsApp, the world’s largest messaging application, is implementing a revolutionary feature that users have long awaited. Meta has started testing support for using two separate WhatsApp accounts (with two different phone numbers) on a single phone in its beta version. The WhatsApp Dual Account Feature was officially confirmed with an update released via TestFlight.

📝 USAGE AND ACCESS OF THE NEW SYSTEM

The new feature will allow users to easily manage their personal and business communications from a single device.

  • Adding Mechanism: Users can easily add a second account using the “Account List” section within the application or via a dedicated button next to the QR code icon on the main screen.
  • Account Activation: This second account can be activated instantly, either by opening it with a completely new phone number or by linking an existing WhatsApp account that was active on another device using a QR code.

🔇 NO NOTIFICATION OR SETTINGS CONFUSION

The greatest benefit of the dual account support is that the data and settings for both accounts remain independent.

  • Independence: Both accounts maintain their chat history, notification sounds, backup settings, and personal preferences completely independent of each other. Thus, notifications for business messages and personal messages will not become confused, and data records will remain separate.
  • Clarity: Furthermore, the system will clearly indicate which account a message originated from, preventing notification chaos.

🚀 ROLLOUT TIMELINE

The feature is currently available only to TestFlight beta users. However, Meta is known for quickly distributing major features that directly impact user experience. Therefore, the WhatsApp Dual Account Feature is expected to be opened to all Android and iOS users in the coming weeks.
