Torrential Rain Turned into Flood in Sanliurfa! Vehicles and People Drifted

Flood in Sanliurfa

Streets and avenues were flooded as a result of the downpour expected with the meteorology warning. While vehicles were dragged and turned into scrap, some of the citizens were caught in the flood.

General Directorate of Meteorology issued a downpour warning for some provinces including Şanlıurfa.

Immediately after the warning, it started raining across the city.

Due to the rainfall, which increased its effect from time to time, some streets and avenues almost turned into a lake.

A rural neighborhood in Karaköprü district was flooded by flood waters.

AFAD announced that the precipitation will continue until Thursday and citizens should be careful and cautious against any negativity.

Şanlıurfa Governorate also announced that education in schools was suspended for 1 day due to heavy downpour.

The governor stated that the intensive care ward of Eyyübiye Training and Research Hospital was flooded due to the downpour in the city.

Vehicles Drifted Away

The rainfall that affected the city brought life to a standstill. While transportation became almost impossible, citizens had difficulty walking.

Many houses and workplaces were flooded and vehicles were washed away.

Some of the vehicles were washed away by the floods and turned into scrap.

Police Divers Search For 6 People

It is reported that 6 people, including those who tried to drive their vehicles under the Abide Junction with a bridge in the city center and the fire brigade team, were caught in the flood waters, while divers are conducting search and rescue operations in the region.
