The Historical Cendere Bridge in Adiyaman Was Not Destroyed in The Earthquake

The Roman-era Cendere Bridge, located in the Kahta district of Adıyaman, managed to survive the earthquake that affected 10 provinces in Kahramanmaras.

Many buildings collapsed due to earthquakes of 7.7 and 7.6 magnitudes affecting 10 provinces centered in Kahramanmaras.

The historical bridge built by the 16th Legion in the Kahta district of Adıyaman during the reign of the Roman Emperor Septimius Severius (192-211) was not damaged in the earthquake disaster.

It is noteworthy that the historical bridge, which consists of 92 large cut stone blocks 120 meters long, 30 meters high and 7 meters wide, sits on two rocks without the use of mortar.
