
A surprising incident took place in Konya during a routine police security check, where officers found a baby python inside a man’s pocket. The exotic animal was confiscated, and the individual was issued an administrative fine.

According to a statement shared on the official social media account of the General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks (Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry), the following details were provided:

“During an asayiş (public order) check carried out by law enforcement teams in Konya, a baby python was discovered in a man’s pocket, and our teams were immediately notified.
Upon arriving at the scene, our teams confiscated the python and issued an administrative fine to the individual. The baby snake was then handed over to veterinarians at the Karatay Zoo for medical examination.
It is strictly prohibited to collect, keep, or sell wild animals taken from nature without permission, and such actions are subject to legal penalties. Let’s protect nature together.”

The confiscated baby python is currently under veterinary care.
