Ship Sunk In The Marmara Sea Has Been Reached
Batuhan A, which sank in the Marmara Sea, has been located. The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure announced that the ship will be dived today and search and rescue activities will continue uninterruptedly.
The search and rescue operations for the Batuhan A, a dry cargo ship with 6 crew members on board, in the south west of İmralı Island in the Marmara Sea continue from the sea and from the air.
Yesterday, images were taken with an underwater robot to determine whether the ship, which was detected at a depth of 51 meters by sonar image, was the Batuhan A ship with 6 crew members.
In the controls made, it was confirmed that the ship on the seabed was the Batuhan A ship.
Diving For The Ship Will Take Place Today
The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure announced that a dive will be made for the dry cargo ship Batuhan A, which sank in the Marmara Sea.
In a statement made by the Ministry, it was reminded that the Main Search and Rescue Coordination Center received an emergency signal from the ship Batuhan A at 06.32 yesterday.
In the statement, it was pointed out that all sea and air search and rescue elements were immediately notified of the incident, and upon the lack of response to the radio calls made to the ship, it was stated that the ship’s agency, seafarers in the personnel list declaration and mobile cell phones in the Ship People Information System were tried to be contacted, but no response was received.

In the statement, it was stated that all search and rescue elements were informed that the ship may have sent an automatic satellite signal due to the sinking of the ship:
“In addition to the position of the ship received from the satellite, the last position of the ship received from the National Automatic Identification System was also shared with the teams. As a result of the studies carried out, it was confirmed that the ship, which was detected 51 meters below the sea surface with the sonar image, was the Batuhan A ship during the survey conducted by our Directorate General of Coastal Safety with the ROV device at night.
As of today morning, diving activities will be carried out to the wreck and search and rescue activities will continue uninterruptedly at sea and on the coast.”
