Senegalese Painter Kalidou Kasse Donates A Work For Earthquake Victims
Famous Senegalese painter and sculptor Kalidou Kasse donated one of his works for those affected by the earthquakes in Kahramanmaras.
Kalidou Kasse, who signed the condolence book opened at the Turkish Embassy in Dakar, conveyed his condolences to Nur Sağman, who was appointed to the Turkish Embassy in Dakar.
Kasse handed over $11,000 worth of “Climate change” painting to Sağman to be sold for the benefit of earthquake victims.
Stating that he heard Sağman’s call for solidarity, Kasse stated that he immediately took action.
“I’ve decided to donate my work to share your pain and show solidarity,” Kasse said. “Today Turkey is experiencing such a tragedy, but tomorrow it may be another country,” he said.
Sağman said, “We are holding an event at our Embassy on February 23 with Dakar Yunus Emre Enstitüsü and other institutions. At this event, we want to auction the donations made by Senegalese artists and athletes and make the lives of our earthquake victims a little easier.”
