Restrictions on the number of visitors to the Acropolis
Greece is preparing to impose visitor restrictions on the ancient temple of the Acropolis in the capital Athens.
In an interview with Real FM, Greece’s Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni gave information about the pilot programme to be implemented as a result of the work carried out by the Greek Organisation for the Administration and Development of Cultural Resources (ODAP).
Mendoni stated that this programme will contribute to the safety of historical monuments and those working in these areas, and will also improve the experience of visitors.
According to the results of the study, the number of people visiting the historical Acropolis in one day should not exceed 20 thousand.
As of 4 September, according to the pilot programme planned to be implemented, visitors to the Acropolis will also be restricted according to time intervals.
