Porsche adds a new name to the 911 family. Porsche 911 Carrera T, whose first deliveries will be made in the spring of 2023, has been officially introduced.
Porsche introduced the new 911 Carrera T model, positioned between the 911 Carrera and the 911 Carrera S.
With the Sport Chrono package and PASM sports suspension as standard, the 911 Carrera T can accelerate from zero to 100 kilometers in 4.5 seconds with its twin-turbo engine with 385 PS power and 450 Nm torque.
The model, which has a standard 7-speed manual gearbox, can also come with an optional 8-speed PDK transmission.
STANDARD EQUIPMENT WITH PASM SPORT SUSPENSION AND SPORT CHRONO PACKAGE
The standard equipment of the manual transmission Carrera S is powered by Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) with mechanical rear differential lock. Sport Chrono package and PASM sport suspension (-10 mm) are offered as standard on the 911 Carrera T. The only vehicle in which these features are offered with a 385 PS engine, the Carrera T. 911 Carrera S offers the same features as an option. On request, the Carrera T can also be ordered with the optional rear axle steering function normally found on Carrera S and above.
The 911 Carrera T is also equipped with GT sports steering wheel, sports exhaust system and Sports Seats Plus (four-way, electric) as standard. Weighing only 1,470 kg, the manual transmission 911 Carrera T is the lightest 911 series vehicle with the entry-level engine and 35 kg lighter than the 911 Carrera with the standard eight-speed PDK.
With the optional Carrera T Interior Package, seat belts, seat strips, seams, the 911 logo on the headrests and Slate Gray or Lizard Green details on the floor mats can be seen. This package also comes with a GT Steering wheel and four-way adjustable Sport Plus seats.
The 911 Carrera T features the optional Adaptive Sports Seats Plus (18-way, electric) as well as sportier and extremely lightweight full-racing seats with Race Tex seat centers. The interior package of the Carrera T is optionally available with an extended leather interior.
The maximum speed of the model is 291 km/h to the track.
The new 911 Carrera T is available in four metallic colours: Deep Black, Gentian Blue, Ice Gray and GT Silver, as well as four colours: Black, White, Red and Racing Yellow. Special colors are also available in Chalk, Ruby Star Neo, Carmine Red, Shark Blue and Python Green. 911 Carrera T buyers will also have the option to use the Paint to Sample program, which offers the possibility to paint in more than 110 shades.
The “T” in the model name of the Porsche 911 Carrera T stands for “Touring” and dates back to the 911 T’s approval as a touring car in 1968.
This first 911 T remained on the market until 1973, and in 2017 Porsche revived the original 911 model line with the 911 Carrera T from the 991 model line. This sporty installation concept has been successfully applied to the 718 Cayman T, 718 Boxster T and Macan T as well as other model series.
The 2023 Porsche 911 Carrera T will go on sale in the spring of next year with a starting price of $118,000.
