Paralympic tennis player Kevin Piette, 36, paralyzed from the waist down after an accident 11 years ago, carried the Olympic torch with a robotic walking device at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games.
While these moments went viral, it is stated that this exoskeleton, which enables disabled people to walk again, was developed by the French company Wandercraft.
Wandercraft said in a statement that the device will allow millions of people who cannot walk, like Piette, to regain their mobility and move freely.
Perhaps most importantly, the company underlines that this exoskeleton will improve the independence and sense of freedom of people with disabilities.
However, Kevin Piette is said to be one of the first users to test Wandercraft’s robotic walking device.
