New Era in the Second Hand Car Market: Now Guaranteed to be Sold!
With the ‘Regulation on the Trade of Motorised Land Vehicles’ published in today’s issue of the Official Gazette, a new era has started in the second hand!
Some important changes have been made to prevent citizens from being victimised in the second-hand car market. With the ‘Regulation on the Trade of Motor Land Vehicles’ published in today’s issue of the Official Gazette, many factors will need to be taken into consideration when buying and selling second-hand vehicles.
New Regulation for Second Hand Car Market Published in the Official Gazette
With the new regulation, from now on, persons engaged in the car buying and selling business will be required to obtain an authorisation certificate. According to the information in the second part of the regulation, marketing or sale of second-hand motor vehicles within the scope of commercial activity cannot be carried out without an authorisation certificate.
The authorisation certificate will be required for those who sell more than three second-hand cars directly or through intermediary in a calendar year. For those below this number, this document will not be required.
Another important detail is that second-hand cars are now covered by the warranty. In this context, the engine and transmission, electrical and electronic systems of vehicles that are under eight years old or under one hundred and sixty thousand kilometres and whose vehicle class is M1, M1G, N1 and N1G in the registration certificate will be under the warranty of the company for three months or five thousand kilometres from the date of sale.
In the sales of second-hand vehicles refurbished by their manufacturers, the warranty will be applied as one year or twenty thousand kilometres from the date of sale. In this way, potential grievances that citizens will experience in the second hand will be prevented.
