The Ministry of Trade announced that it imposed an administrative fine of approximately 230 million TL on 40 e-commerce companies that were found to have victimized consumers in the first half of 2024. The Ministry stated that the fines were imposed within the scope of inspections to protect the economic interests of consumers.

The reasons behind these fines were listed as order cancellations made on the grounds that the product was out of stock without the consumer’s knowledge, failure to deliver the purchased products within the period specified in the legislation and failure to refund the price of the contracts terminated by the consumers due to non-compliance with these periods.
