ChatGPT, which is a pioneer among artificial intelligence technologies, has also started to be used in automobiles. German automaker Mercedes-Benz will use Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI Service to integrate the ChatGPT app into the in-car voice assistant.
Mercedes Uses Artificial Intelligence Technology
The ChatGPT integration will be available for the first time in a three-month trial program on a select number of vehicles for US users. According to the feedback received, Mercedes will direct the efforts to strengthen and make the software language sustainable.
The integration of ChatGPT technology into the tool will be able to answer questions with longer contextual follow-ups instead of simple commands like “turn on the air conditioner” or “turn off the radio”. It will be able to fulfill many functions, from hotel reservation to match ticket purchase, in conversations that will take place in a chat atmosphere.
Mercedes and Microsoft announced that the new vehicle technology system, which will be realized in cooperation, will be stored in the Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Cloud. Test drives of a limited number of Mercedes models will begin tomorrow.
