Causes examined
“Time Out” magazine explored the top reasons for Istanbul’s rise to the top spot, citing Turkey’s relaxation of visa requirements for travelers from the US and Canada, coupled with the city’s dazzling landscapes, cultural richness, shopping opportunities, historical richness and blend of Asian and European culture, as one reason for the city’s growing popularity.
The study stated that London, the second most visited city, once again reached its pre-pandemic level with 18.8 million visitors, and that despite leaving the EU, the UK capital remains one of the world’s most popular travel destinations.
London and Dubai follow Istanbul
Dubai, the third most visited city in the world, stands out with its impressive skyscrapers such as Burj Khalifa, summer heat and lifestyle, combining traditional Arab culture with modern culture, and has become more popular in recent years.
