Investigation Launched into Elon Musk’s Neuralink Company
Elon Musk’s brain implant company is facing another investigation. Neuralink is accused of transporting implants removed from the brains of monkeys in a way that puts public health at risk.
The US Department of Transportation (USDOT) has launched an investigation into Elon Musk’s brain implant company, Neuralink. The company, which has been on the agenda with allegations of cruelty to animals before, is now accused of illegally transporting pathogen devices extracted from monkeys.
According to a statement made by a spokesperson for the Ministry of Transport, the investigation into violations of the dangerous goods transport law was initiated upon the application of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), an animal welfare advocacy group.
May Be Carrier of Dangerous Diseases
PCRM says it has received emails and documents showing that Neuralink has packaged and transported implants extracted from monkey brains in a way that threatens public health. In the statement, it was noted that these implants, which are likely to be contaminated with pathogens, may be carriers of infectious diseases.
“We are conducting an investigation to ensure that Neuralink fully complies with federal regulations and protects its employees and the public from potentially dangerous pathogens,” the ministry said in a statement.
