A tragic accident occurred in Denizli’s Buldan district when a tour bus carrying day-trip passengers from İzmir skidded off the road and overturned into a ditch. One passenger lost her life, while 32 people — including the driver — were injured, 6 of them seriously.
Tour Bus Loses Control and Overturns
The accident took place at around 18:00 on the Denizli–Buldan highway. The bus, driven by Cevdet Uça (49) and carrying participants of a daily tour from İzmir, reportedly went out of control near the Bölme Kaya area. The vehicle veered off the road and overturned into a ditch after the driver lost control of the steering wheel.
1 Dead, 32 Injured — 6 in Critical Condition
Emergency teams, including medical, fire, police and gendarmerie units, were dispatched to the scene following eyewitness reports. Güldane Altınova (67) was pronounced dead at the scene. The bus driver and 32 injured passengers were transported by ambulance to Denizli State Hospital, Servergazi State Hospital, Pamukkale University Hospital and Buldan State Hospital. Hospital sources reported that 6 of the injured are in critical condition and remain under intensive treatment.
Investigation Launched
Following on-site examinations, the body of Güldane Altınova was taken to Buldan State Hospital for autopsy procedures. Authorities confirmed that the bus had been returning to İzmir after a daily sightseeing tour in Buldan. An official investigation into the cause of the accident is currently underway.
