Graham Harrell inducted into the Texas Tech Ring of Honor

LUBBOCK, Texas — October 25, 2025. Texas Tech honored former star quarterback Graham Harrell by inducting him into the program’s Ring of Honor during halftime of the Red Raiders’ game against Oklahoma State at Jones AT&T Stadium. The ceremony unveiled Harrell’s name on the West Stadium Building and coincided with his on-campus salute as a member of the 2025 National Football Foundation College Football Hall of Fame class.

What Texas Tech recognized

Texas Tech’s Ring of Honor acknowledges individuals with extraordinary, lasting impact on the program. Harrell—now the 12th inductee—quarterbacked Tech from 2006–08, amassed staggering totals (including school and Big 12 records), and led the team to a No. 2 national ranking in 2008 highlighted by the late touchdown to Michael Crabtree to defeat Texas. The athletic department first announced his selection on June 18, 2025, with Ring of Honor events scheduled for Oct. 24–25.

Where Harrell is now

Harrell currently serves as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Abilene Christian University (ACU), a role he began in January 2025. ACU noted ahead of the induction that he would be honored in Lubbock and highlighted the Wildcats’ offensive gains under his direction this fall.

Hall of Fame salute

In addition to the Ring of Honor, the NFF confirmed Harrell’s on-campus Hall of Fame salute would take place at the Oklahoma State game, part of the run-up to his official induction on December 9, 2025 in Las Vegas. The NFF cited seven NCAA records from his Texas Tech career among the reasons for his selection.
