Good News for Those Who Do Not Like Listening to Voice Messages on WhatsApp: A New Feature is Coming!
WhatsApp is preparing to bring a major innovation to Android users. Now voice messages can be converted into text. Here are the details!
WhatsApp has recently accelerated its efforts to bring features tested and introduced for iOS users to Android users. A new feature recently announced by WaBetaInfo is the conversion of voice messages to text, which was tested and introduced for iOS users, will soon come to Android users.
As seen in the screenshot shared by WaBetaInfo, with the upcoming Android update, users will now be able to transcribe voice messages. This feature will be a great advantage for people who do not like to listen to voice messages or who cannot listen to the incoming message in some environments.
Voice Messages Can Now Be Transcribed on WhatsApp
Users will need to download 150 MB of new app data to take advantage of this feature. The app will use the devices’ speech recognition to transcribe these messages in detail. With the additional app, voice messages will be integrated into message boxes and can be easily converted to text when voice messages are not wanted to be listened to.
This feature will be the most important factor in the complete transcription of voice messages. Advanced speech recognition technology will be used for this. Thus, the feature will make a big difference not only for people who cannot listen to the sound at that moment, but also for users with hearing impairment.
Transcribing voice notes is currently in testing for Android users and it is not yet clear when it will be available for all users.
