Erciyes Is Getting Ready For The Winter Season
Erciyes Ski Center, One Of The Winter Tourism Centers, Is Preparing For The Season
Erciyes Ski Center, one of Turkey’s most important winter tourism centers, is getting ready for the season. The mechanical facilities on the slopes are being overhauled by the teams working in the region. Murat Cahid Cıngı, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Erciyes A.Ş., said, “We are taking the necessary measures to ensure that the mountain is ready for the next season with all its elements.”
Preparations for the new season continue at Erciyes Ski Center, one of Turkey’s most important winter tourism centers. In this context, the mechanical facilities on the slopes are being overhauled. The personnel working on the slopes check the mechanical facilities one by one. Cable cars and snowmaking units are also being overhauled before the new season. Deformed mechanical products are replaced with new ones. Murat Cahid Cıngı, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Erciyes A.Ş., who gave information about the season preparations, said, “As the ski center management, we are starting the preparations, maintenance and repair of the next season. Since the most intensively used instruments by skiers here are chairlifts and gondolas, we are reviewing all our products line by line throughout the summer. We renew the parts that stretch, deteriorate and deform. We measure the length of their ropes. We renew our equipment where the chairs are connected to the ropes and require a lot of precision.”
‘Our Snowmaking Units Are Being Reviewed’
Stating that the repair of a cable car line takes about 3 weeks, Cıngı said, “When we start the repair of the cable cars before the snow disappears, we can only complete it for the next season. There are changes in our runways due to rock breaks in the mountains, rain, floods and other factors. Slope problems may arise on the tracks. We try to overcome these deficiencies with our construction machines throughout the summer. We open new runways. We rehabilitate existing runways. We correct places with slope problems. We overhaul our snowmaking units one by one. If you can no longer produce artificial snow, it means that you do not meet the criteria of a good ski center. Snowmaking is very important for us. That is why all our snowmaking machines are being reviewed. We are taking the necessary measures to ensure that the mountain is ready for the next season with all its elements.”
As you know, the first snow fell in Erciyes on September 22, 2022.
