An Irish tourist who climbed on the restored statue in front of the Stock Exchange in Brussels broke the arm of the statue. The repair cost of the restored statue is estimated at 19 thousand dollars.

The statue that adorns the entrance of the building had its arm broken by an Irish tourist one day after the restoration process was completed, which caused great repercussions in the country. The man , who was arrested by the police in a nearby restaurant after the incident, claimed that he did not understand the extent of the damage he caused.
DAMAGE WILL BE DEMANDED FROM THE TOURIST
Local sources estimate that the cost of repairing the statue will be around 19 thousand dollars and the Brussels Stock Exchange will demand compensation from the tourist.

Restoration project manager Nel Vandevennet emphasized that the building and the sculptures are part of cultural heritage and said their repair could take several weeks or months.
