An important step was taken in the field of traffic safety in Turkey. Domestic and national artificial intelligence-supported speed violation detection systems, developed in cooperation with the Turkish National Police and the Presidency of Defense Industries, have started to be used.

These systems are produced by Radarsan Radar Technologies San. ve Tic. A.Ş. and integrated with the General Directorate of Security’s speed violation software, the “Mobile Speed Detection System” aims to increase the effectiveness of traffic inspections and reduce foreign dependency.

Artificial Intelligence Supported Mobile Speed Detection System

The new generation mobile speed detection device can read the license plate, vehicle type and speed data of all vehicles in all weather conditions, day and night, without the need for any operator.

This system, which detects speed violations instantly with the support of artificial intelligence, transmits data to the General Directorate of Security’s PolNet network with photos and time of passage, and notifies traffic teams instantly.

The system, which started to be used in Ankara, Izmir, Bursa, Balıkesir and Niğde within the scope of pilot implementation, showed its effectiveness by detecting 6,551 speed violations during the 9-day Eid al-Adha holiday alone.

This technological innovation, produced with domestic and national means, aims to create a solution to the challenges Turkey faces in the field of traffic safety. Artificial intelligence-supported mobile speed detection devices are considered an important step towards preventing loss of life and property.

Developed in coordination with the General Directorate of Security and the Presidency of Defense Industries, these systems aim to contribute to the country’s road safety and look to the future with confidence.
