It was announced that Bayraktar TB3, Turkey’s new generation SİHA, developed by Baykar, will be exhibited for the first time at the aviation, space and technology festival TEKNOFEST.
We recently shared with you the new images of the new generation Bayraktar TB3 SİHA, designed and developed by Baykar. Now, in the statement made, it has been announced that Bayraktar TB3 will be showcased for the first time at TEKNOFEST 2023.
Bayraktar TB3 Debuts
This year’s TEKNOFEST event will be held at Istanbul Atatürk Airport between April 27 and May 1. Bayraktar TB3 will be exhibited publicly at this event. As it is known, Bayraktar KIZILELMA exhibited for the first time in TEKNOFEST Black Sea and made its first flight on December 14, 2022, three months later.
Bayraktar TB3 can take off and land from short-range runways, just like the TCG Anadolu ship. Bayraktar TB3, which provides a logistical advantage with its foldable wing structure, will extend its reconnaissance-surveillance, intelligence and attack missions to overseas targets with its beyond line of sight communication capability.
“100 Percent Equity”
Baykar CEO Haluk Bayraktar, in a statement on Twitter, said that they developed Bayraktar TB3 SİHA with 100 percent own resources, without government support, just like KIZILELMA. In the statement made, it was underlined that since 2003, 75 percent of Baykar’s entire income has been obtained from exports.
Baykar, which is the export leader in the defense and aerospace sector in 2021 according to the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), reached 99.3 percent with the contracts it signed in 2022 and achieved an export income of 1.18 billion dollars. It was stated that the income from exports was also transferred to R&D activities.
Baykar, which is the biggest exporter of the defense and aerospace industry, has a turnover of 1.4 billion dollars in 2022. Export agreements have been signed with 28 countries for Bayraktar TB2 SİHA and with 6 countries for Bayraktar AKINCI TİHA. Finally, at the beginning of the year, an export contract of 370 million dollars was signed with Kuwait.
