At Low Waters in Venice; Italy Faces Drought Alert
Stunning images emerged as the country is facing the possibility of drought in the city of Venice, which is famous for its gondolas and water channels in Italy. While the water level in the canals is at the lowest level in 15 years, the gondolas cannot be used in some of the famous canals due to the water withdrawn.
According to the statements of scientists and environmental groups, after the drought emergency last summer as the Alps received less than seasonal snowfall, Italy faced the threat of a drought again. As the canals begin to build, the current water level makes it impossible for gondolas, water taxis and ambulances to travel to parts of the city. The situation in Venice is attributed to a combination of several factors, such as lack of rain, high pressure system, full moon and sea currents.
THE PATIENT IS CARRYING IN THE ARM
“Our operators often have to stop vehicles at a certain distance from their destination and continue on foot, in most cases the patient is carried in their arms,” Paolo Rosi, head of the Venice Emergency Service, told local officials.
